Out of screwgates?

Here’s a quick tip that’s handy to know for when you run out of screwgate karabiners on a route.

Take two snapgate krabs and clip them both to the rope, with the gates facing in opposite directions. Either use the karabiners on left over quickdraws, or use some of your racking krabs (which is why you shouldn’t rack your gear on”not for climbing” accessory karabiners).

Note: Don’t use this method for clipping on to chest harnesses on white water bouyancy aids. If one of the snapgates accdentally clips the bouyancy aid itself, you won’t be able to release the chest harness.
